trio of survival knives

Built these for a customer who was going to use them for survival applications. Forged from 1095 carbon. Might be a little big for my taste for carrying but I think they would work...

That's roughly what I based it on for him, but over-sized the guards..11 inch blade on one and 12 inch on the other two. Forged it out of stock that was almost a 1/4 inch thick. not sure if I quote prices here or if that is restricted to the sellers area...

Don't think I took pics of those. Made a basic drop-in sheath out of 9oz leather to fit each knife. Then I treated them in hotwax/oil mixture....

two are paracord, which I think would work better in a survival situation, but the far left one was ordered with elk... I was amazed at how much paracord you can wrap around the handle of a large knife like this, and all I did was a single wrap. If you wanted more you can double wrap. This project made me a huge fan of paracord on the handle of a survival knife!
