I spent the past few days with my wife out at Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia and had a great time. I thought some of you guys might be interested in learning about the island and what you can do out there, so I have a trip report over on my blog with lots of pics. Click on them for higher resolution versions. Here are some teasers:

What is with that big orange thing? It looks like some ill-conceived Soviet space capsule. No offense to the cosmonauts. Is that a buoy?

Great pics and trip report!

I hate when you pick out a nice spot and then you get loud drunk idiots camping next to you. I guess when I was one of the loud drunk idiots it didn't bother me, but now I have a family.....

the link didn't work for me?

looks like a nice trip based on those couple of photos though! looks like nice warm weather.

EDITED to add: i found it by poking around the blog site, sounds like a pretty nice trip overall!

Whoops, thanks for the heads up. I fixed it. :)

The weather was actually pretty cold for GA. It was down in the 20s the first night, 30s the second night. Days got up in the 50s though, so it wasn't too bad. I got to try out my new 15F down bag, which is SWEET.
