I've got a crop of glass tubes glowing away here and I've not found a use for them in the last year so they need to go. They are 1/4 in thick and vary from 2 1/2 in long to nearly 6 in long. Most are shorter, in the 1 to 3 inch range. They are from an old exit sign, I would estimate their age to be somewhere between 5-8 years; they still throw a lot of light when its totally dark, you can read a book with a couple big ones to light it.

I'm interested in knives, high quality paracord (8 strand would be nice), flashlights, or whatever you think would be worth my while.

Edit: They're not necessarily going as a lot, I'm willing to trade in lots of 2 and more. Just make me an offer.

Sorry, no action shots right now but when I have time I'll set up some dark shots.

What can these be used for in the knife community? Just a curiosity question...and these are radio active!!! and I'm
Not sure how safe direct contact with them is but i have seen warnings on the exit signs i have installed.

Tritium has a few uses and is just pretty cool. Seal a few of those in some lucite and you have yourself a nightlight that will last for about the next 15 years. With smaller ones than these, I've seen knives with a milled out a space in the handle of a fixed blade and sometimes even folders and then the tritium is set in the pocket as a locator. Same thing goes for flashlights. Tritium makes for a fantastic locator in the dark no matter what it's attached to. And like I said, it's just cool.

Anyway, are you trading these only as a set or are you breaking them up? I don't really have a use for the larger ones, but I could probably do something with the shorter ones.

Sorry, I thought that was funny or some reason. :D

I have the same question about getting a couple. I don't have a specific idea of what I'm going to use them for yet, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. ;)
I was thinking of the encapsulation idea as well.

Ok, action shots at last! And yes, I can trade these in sets of 2 or more. I could really use a nice hank of 8 strand paracord... or a knife.

This is the tubes brightness right after you turn off the lights.

.... and with darkness-adjusted eyesight.

How do you plan to ship these?

I have some stuff to trade, so if they're still available, please drop me an email.
