Troll Actions: Distillation

And the qualifier that you would have done so if young is a cop-out. What you mean is that you could if you wanna. You would be, 'justified'. Fine. Not with me, though, or with many others.

I guess you wrote this to make me feel better, maybe to have the last word, to prove something..... Just a bit self rightous isn't it?.... This is exactly what I was writing about......it's like putting a chip on your shoulder.

I think you got a good heart munk but you take yourself way to seriously.......
chill and save the petty critisim..... huh?

nothing learned. It's always someone else, isn't is Bran? You bring up old history what, four months later, but I'm the self serious one?

To reinterate- you were accepted a long time ago. Isn't it time to let it go?

It's been a while since I have posted here, in general, I lurk most often simply because there's a lot to be learned just through lurking alone. However, with regards to the trolling situation since being a paying member may not be an option for many regulars on here and may also cut down on potential customers for Uncle Bill, maybe having newbie posts or threads be subject to moderator approval before being put on the forum might cut down on the amount of trolling. Axeforum already does this for the ATrim-Angelsword forum. If it works for them, maybe that might be an option to pursue here. Just my .02 cents...

think that is spot-on. Fighting a troll is like asking for egg on one's face forever. Who has the most time to devote to mischief? The Troll.

One of the things I have lost track of was the small "report to moderator" bottom that use to be located on the bottom of every post. We encourage trolls by our own behavior. If we make it a policy to react in a preprogramed mechanical way, the challenge and excitement of being a troll fades. We should restore the signal buttons, ignore the troll, and simply take out the garbage at 3:00PM every Friday afternoon. Don't get excited and don't bother to reply. Just notify your local moderator and they will review the offending item, to see if it violates forum policy, and then add the bums name to the Friday doomsday list.

No drama, no agitation, and no crys of troll!...troll!...troll! just an automatic ban and a standard official (boring) email. From a troll's perspective; a complete waste of effort.

1) Reminds of an old saying that I will misquote: Don't wrestle with a pig, because you'll just get all muddy.... and the pig kind of likes it.

2) Isn't there a "report bad post icon" that looks like a triangle with an apostrophe?

Yup. It's in the upper right corner of each post in the new software. Handy thing, thanks for reminding us.

Oh, yeah! I think i had the "strong, not sweet" variety. Good both warm and cold. And, yes, Nasty likes the Sake. He has some really hard core stuff I've gotten a few nips off of in the last two visits...

As fer trolls, I'll take trolls over Maoists any day.

Words on a forum are like water in a brook...they babble and titter, and then are on by you before you know it, replaced by more words. Even when someone pisses in from the bank, the clean water from upstream dilutes it, washes it away. Try to keep the water clean.
