This has been happening to me for a few weeks now. I'll start typing a reply to a quote and mid sentence the cursor on my phone will "tab" down dozens or hundreds of spaces.

It seems to happen more often when I quote text, but it happened trying to create the above post.

Posting from a Samsung phone.
 
And was unable as the cursor would sporadically jump down and back in random spots whilst typing.
 
I tried to quote someone that asked a question on the EDC thread and was unable to reply to their "quote", I needed to @ them because the problem was so persistent. I tried 3-4 times and gave up.
 
When I made the above post there was a sea of white space I had to scroll past to hit "post reply"

I reset my keyboard on my phone, and that seemed to have fixed it.. hmm I feel like that was too easy. I wonder what caused that mayhem.

Hopefully that was it. I'm going to try a link post below.
