Trouble with bends

bends has 1 bad feedback out of like 30 and when I traded with him before he shipped first and was very corporative. So I figured I could trust him with this second trade.

I traded with this guy before and everything went smooth he sent me a big chris ironwood bushcrafter for my BHK bushcrafter. He was very comparative and good to deal with.

So he emails me that he wants to trade back for his big chris. So we agree on a koster bushcraft for the big chris and we are both going to ship to next day to each other so I ship my knife out. He emails me he made it late to the post office so he went to ups and they don't ship to po boxes. I told him no worries just ship it out as soon as you can. Then I don't hear from him for like 2 days. I ask him what's up and all I get is a email that he needs to cancel our trade and that I should recall my package. No explanation on why or anything. Mean while I try to recall my package and it won't let me. Before I could recall my package it got re routed to a different town in New York then the address he gave me. And now my knife is lost somewhere I have no idea and he will not respond to any of my emails at all. He won't give me an explanation. And I know he has seen my emails because he has changed his google profile picture from when I last talked to him. He hasn't had any activity on this forum since his last email to me about canceling the trade.

Now I don't know if he is sick or something happened in his family or whatever but he won't even contact me to let me know what is going on. It's been a month and a half now so I think he scammed me on this one! Really aggravating!

It was supposed to go to Troy and ended up getting rerouted to another address.
 
There was a thread (unresolved?) about Bends a few months ago, where he does indicate he was moving. Unless you shipped to a P.O. box, I don't see why Bends should give you his old address. But I may be missing a few things. Good luck, and hope this sorts out.
 
No he didnt move. He also had 1 good trade with me than stole a blind horse from me on the next trade.
Mods were not helpful, made me wonder if they are not buddies. i didnt re-up to gold membership when it came due because of the mods.
USN members have been much better to trade with. They seem to be very honest.

Well, I am sorry that you felt we were not helpful. We did what we could, you are very welcome in any case. Thanks for the backhanded compliment; glad you had a good experience elsewhere, they are lucky ducks to have you. ;)

It sucks because he won't even respond to me whatsoever. And he hasn't been on Bladeforums since his last contact with me. I don't know what I can really do or what the mods could do to help me out
 
There is only so much a Mod can do irrespective of the forum they moderate.
 
Cancelling a trade after an item has been shipped is inexcusable, but, after looking up tracking number, a question for the OP.

You say he emailed you 2 days after you shipped and cancelled the trade. That would be the 23rd since you shipped the 21st? Why couldn't you intercept the package, it wasn't delivered until June 2nd? USPS site says you can intercept a package up until it's out for delivery: "... If your item hasn't been delivered or released for delivery, you can request USPS Package Intercept service."

Again, not condoning or defending cancelling the trade, just wonder why you didn’t contact USPS sooner?
 
OP first off I'm sorry that this happened to you. I had a very successful trade at the beginning of April with bends. He did everything promised and even followed up to show me mods he did to the knife I sent him. I was a bit hesitant because of the one bad feedback but it turned out fine.

Bends please do the right thing and return the knife. I know you're lurking.
Your decision to kill the deal after he shipped was really poor form. Take responsibility for your actions!
 
It wouldn't let me recall it for some reason and it kept not taking my card. It was being delivered to the Troy address so it would let me recall it. And then I had gone on a camping trip where I get no Internet service so by the time I tried again. It had been delivered to the other address I could have tried a little harder to get the package retuned to be honest. But it seemed like the perfect storm where I just couldn't get a hold of it to get it returned to me.
 
Mods need to step up and ban him instead of just given the stole from folks by bends a little chappy!
They all must be buddies!
 
When the time is proper he will be dealt with.
How about folks such as yourself recognizing your part in these matters, doing due diligence and protecting yourselves, instead of blaming mods for your own behaviors. Your next post here better be contributory to the thread or you will likely be getting at least a trolling infraction.

The mods have contacted me and are helping me out and have punished bends account. They have been helpful!!
I don't expect them to do anything more. They can't really until bends replies or it gets resolved somehow.
It's not like they can go knock on his door and ask for my knife. They are doing what they can.
