trouble with snaps

Somehow Jim's R&D department, and VP of Merchandizing came up with the fact that the black snaps were too short, brown and nickel are ok and said that they wouldn't show while being worn so the color should be immaterial. I think that is a miss rather than a hit. I don't get the part about not showing at all and the problem I'm having is not about being too short. Now I not only have snaps that don't work....I'm confused:confused:

Sounds like its either they didn't understand the question or its clever misdirection? :p

Eerily similar to the mess I spoke of earlier, they were all over the place trying to blame something besides the issue at hand.

My posts on the top snaps were what was causing me issues as well. The posts were short enough that I had to compress the leather on with a c clamp before I could get them to set. Not a clean flare either.

The real problem, besides the dickens of a time flaring. Is the fact that there are about 2/3's of the top snaps missing.

I sent Jim a picture of a snap and cleared up the question about which snaps. Somehow they were thinking about the snaps that would be used to hold a belt buckle on and not the ones that would be used on a knife sheath. They don't currently have a solution to the problem other than using nickel snaps.

I picked up some more supplies from the Tandy in Spokane WA, and the lady gave me a free pack of snaps for the trouble.

We will see if they cause me the same problems. I got the same dark colored ones as before.

Coincidentally I recently tried some of th various snaps from Dot Fasteners that Sandy mentions above. Got them through Sailrite and the turned up very quickly. Very nice with some cool options.
