Found an old what I believe is a thrower. It has TRU-BAL on one side and bowie axe on the other. It is in a large leather sheath. Appears to be a carbon blade with a black material rivited handle. Any help anyone can give me on history and price would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!

The Tru- Bal Bowie axe is still being made today. They sell for $75.00 from The Tru Bal shop.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't some sort of valuable antique before I regrind it into something else.

Regrind a Tru-Bal? Are you nuts????????? You regrind old leaf springs, files and broken knives, not a functional work of art. Shame on you Trentu...LOL!!!!!

After researching and hearing your thoughts I will keep the Tru-Bal original. I polished it to a mirror sheen and polished the handle and brass rivets. Looks very nice. Consider this peice of knife history saved.
