Has anyone ever used Tru Grit Inc's heat treating services. They offer a few heat treat and tempering options for a pretty reasonable price. I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them...

Thanks Dan....

I am curious as well. tru grit has always been pretty cheap, and good quality for me, but the heat treat looks like a guy with an evenheat, not a setup like peters or bose.

Call and ask them exactly how they do it! It may turn out to be a pretty good deal, especially if you only need a couple blades HT'ed.

Not a bad Idea James...I guess even if it is a guy with an evenheat oven and he does it right it might just be a good alternative for small batches of blades.

Jeff is the knifemaker on staff at TruGrit. He is a nice guy and makes some nice knives. While Peter and BOS are set up with the high tech outfits that knifemakers do not own. Places like trugrit and Texas Knifemakers are doing it more like a knife maker would do in his own shop if he had the set up.

I have had excellent results from them.

Good to hear Charlie...Maybe soon I'll be up to 20 or 30 blade runs but tru grit seems to be a decent way to go until then..! Thanks for the input everyone!
