Looking for something tough, yet very simple to apply. Was reading on a RAT forum that alot of those guys are using LineX truck bed liner spray on their knives.

Anyone have any qualms or experience with this?

Its a carbon steel khukri from himalayan imports and its going to be my main backpacking, end of the world, out anywhere knife. Just dont want to worry about it rusting if I forget to oil it.

Thanks in advance.

No experience with it but, it's an idea that's popped in my head. I think it'd make a nice tough blade finish.

if its skikky and tough enough then sounds good, only problem I see is that you may have alot of friction when cutting. would be great for a knife handle coat too

Thanks guys, I dont mind oiling my knives, but sometimes I like the use it, put it away and I forget to oil it. Thinking about doing the whole khukri, minus from the blade and about a half an inch up from it, that way I can just rub some beeswax on the blade and voila!

Seriously though no one has tried it? Kinda shocked honestly.

yep chalk that one up with my Idea to use a bicycle inertube as sheath material

But hey just get some steel any doesn't have to be carbon, and try itsee if it ccomes of or anything. Oh, you may not want to eat what you cut with it if it does flake, or rub off, doubt it will though.

Hey Ive got an Idea. I really dont know what exactly your talking about, but you might be able to cover the blade in aluminum foil, and spray on a 5 or 6 of coats to make a form fitting sheath, well put that up with the inertube too

the problem I see with using bed liner coating on a kukri is that if I were to do that to mine, they wouldn't fit very well in the sheath and they'd be a pain to pull out.
