So, it's been a year officially with the small 31. Figured I'd pop back in and update this...
I've carried the sebenza pretty much nonstop since it arrived, with the exception of a few weeks in the spring I was doing some experimenting. I still prefer a thinner ground blade for some stuff, but I use the sebenza for the nasty work. Stripping wire ends, scraping stump grinder teeth, and cleaning crevasses in stumps needing to be flushed (it takes me way less time to sharpen the knife than it does a 36" saw chain).
The ti has accumulated some character, and I've been pretty happy with how the s45vn is to maintain. As I've seen can be the case, the break-in period was pretty slow, but it finally achieved the fabled smooth action. Overall it's been a pleasant and reliable companion on my day to day exploits. I still prefer the character of a traditional, and continue to carry a companion knife for more delicate tasks.
