True Detective.

Don't read this if you haven't seen episode 3 yet.

Well, surprise, surprise. Maybe is should be hooray for Hollywood. Det.Velcoro survived a shotgun fired at point blank range into his chest. The story is that he was shot with rubber buckshot. That's OK for the first shot, but point blank range would be deadly. Even a 12ga blank would be deadly at that range. That's why rubber buck is called less lethal.

I would watch this show forever if it featured Colin Ferrell getting shot by people in animal masks every episode.

More seriously, I enjoyed the first season, but I don't feel much need to watch any more of season 2. Not particularly bad, just haven't found it very engaging.

well, i thought last nights episode upped the entertainment level a good bit.

I am enjoying this season, i very much preferred last season if a comparison is in order but i dont think one is. This feels like and is a completely different show. I have been plesantly surprised with Vince Vaughn, i pretty much knew what to expect from the others but Vaughn's ability to channel his manic brand of comedy chops into a violent manic psychotic bubbling under the surface of a businessman is impressive.

i feel the show is about to speed up for the last half of the series much like season 1. I would like the shows to be named something like "True Detective Louisiana" and "True Detective LA" to provide more of a separation between the two, but whatever.

also, I too would watch the show for all time if every episode featured Colin Ferrel getting shotgun gutshot from point blank by a dude in a creepy animal mask on the floor of a soundproof dungeon room next to some wierd swing for intimate relations. Yeah that happened.

At about 53 minutes into tonight's episode it looked like one of the main characters whose name I forget was using an Emerson CQC-7 to break into the mansion. Anyone else see it?
