"Was the model an idea from a Cantina member or did the Kamis come up with it?"

Gang Yangdu says, "The Trisul model was design by sher's brother Kancha Kami. He is Sher's helper in the shop."

Looks like Kancha Kami is going to be a force to be reckoned with one day. :D
The Trisul keeps growing on me bit by bit.

Cool...and a nice design too!

Wish I had gotten a wood one, but may just get some Micarta instead.

Hollow...that doesn't look like you could either chop or carve with it!

I know what you mean Nasty; that special wood one yesterday that I think Satori snagged was a real beauty. I like the horn on mine as it is very pretty, it just needs the fit and finish cleaned up a bit.

If Sher and Kumar, brothers, are both kamis in their own right, then is Kancha kami then a younger brother and an apprentice? This is the first I've heard of Kancha. Hopefully we'll see more..... ;)

Well Kancha has a great eye, and a good imagination. We should see good things from him if his quality is consistant.

I wonder if the new Kancha Kami knows how to make the Kancha Kami khukuri? Wishful thinking I know...

It is very much a family affair at HI. If I remember correctly Bura is the younger brother of Nara, and old Ganga Ram is their Uncle.

I dont mean to make anyone angry, but I'd appreciate it if we didnt call Yangdu "Miss."
Im not sure exactly what the proper title is now, but somehow "Miss"doesnt seem respectful in light of Bill's recent passing.
What do you guys think ?

Danny:

The part of West Virginia I come from, everyone referred to a familiar adult woman and particularly an elder familiar adult woman (not necessarily 'elderly', just older than you) as "Miss (FirstName)" as a respectful form of address regardless of marital status. The woman that lived across the street from us is still Miss Frances to us and everyone else despite being widowed for 10+ years. She'd be Mrs. Collins to anyone not familiar.

Given my heritage and the customs in those parts, "Miss" is a respectful term of address.

I've used the term here in this forum as did Yvsa in this thread, and I CERTAINLY meant NO offense.

What about Aunt Yangdu? It seems to fit.....

Noah it was pretty much the same way in Texas.
The thing is, I have never even met Yangdu and this is a public place.
It just feels funny to me.

DIJ - I'll be honest...it raised my hair at first too....but then...(I'm not from the South, but have lived in it now for 6 years)...I got ta thinkin'...:D....the widow next door goes by "Miss Mickey" (her preference).

So,...

Exactly, Danny. For exactly as you state above, I feel uncomfortable NOT using a respectful form of address of some description.

Each should do as they are comfortable as long as it's done respectfully. I think Bill would approve of that expectation.

I agree. Of course, were Yangdu to object it would not be respectful to continue, but I haven't seen her do that.

My mother told me about this respectful form of address used in the southern US. She is from Missouri.
