True Origin of the Trisul Model from Miss Yangdu.

I dont mean to make anyone angry, but I'd appreciate it if we didnt call Yangdu "Miss."
Im not sure exactly what the proper title is now, but somehow "Miss"doesnt seem respectful in light of Bill's recent passing.
What do you guys think ?
I think people should make allowances for the customs in different parts of the country. I'm a helluva lot older than Miss Yangdu and *I Will* continue to call her as such unless she objects to me personally. As Nasty has commented and Howard has said, "She hasn't" I also use the term Miss Yangdu in my emails to her.
Her reply to me for this post was, "Thanks for help." Not "Don't call me Miss Yangdu Please."

Uncle Bill was older than me and I called him Brother as well as Uncle Bill out of respect and sometimes just plain Bill.
Miss Yangdu isn't my Aunt even though I do agree it is also a form of respect to call Miss Yangdu so.
Call Miss Yangdu what you will and let every one else do the same as long as it is respectful.

DIJ you object to the term "Jap" (as do I) and yet you continue to post threads derogative to the Japanese here even if it is the truth as you see it. Get over yourself my friend. :p

Yvsa,
When I see someone call a woman who was recently widowed "miss", it seems to point out that bereavement unnecessarily.
I wasnt thinking about myself.
Id appreciate the benefit of the doubt.
I never said a derogative thing about the Japanese.
Critical, yes, but not derogative.
Those are two very different words and Id appreciate it if you didnt confuse them.

Then I'd say for you to do the same!!!!

Danny...remember all of those apology threads? Chill out and take life easy...it's too short to waste.

.

Im not the one getting all upset.
I just suggested that Miss might not be the best way to address a recently widowed woman.
Obviously, I was not alone.
I was never upset, I simply made a suggestion that Mrs might be better as the etiquette manuals say.

Im not sure Why Yvsa seems so mad at me, but I can give as good as I get,
and do it with respect to anyone involved.

I have never said a derogatory word about anyone and I wont let that charge stand uncontested.

I have been critical, critical from bitter experience. Never derogatory.

If I have done wrong, then I will accept blame. I have not done wrong this time, as I did not do wrong the last time (The Japanese girls "teeth" incident)
If I am to receive no apology for a mistaken reprimand, then I will not meekly accept any such mistaken reprimand.

DIJ I'm not mad or angry at you. All I'm saying is that not everyone sees things the same way you do. Seems to me that most people here didn't have a problem with Miss Yangdu.
Shall I email Miss Yangdu and ask her if it's acceptable?

You say you haven't been derogatory and I say you have. Some of the things you've said about the Japanese seems pretty damned derogatory to me.
We used to have a very valued Japanese member here that called himself Wrongfriend. He hasn't posted once since you've been here that I can recall. Some of your posts must have seemed derogatory to him as well.
As for giving what you get, well that seems to be the big bad Ninja talking. Who pooped in your oatmeal when you had your breakfast anyway?
And I wasn't talking about the girls teeth incident. That was one of the milder posts IMO.
Just remember you are not the big bad Ninja here, simply a voice behind a keyboard like the rest of us.

Like I said, "Get over yourself my friend."

Actually, that's the Texan in me.

If Wrongfriend left because of me, I cant really help that. Japanese people dont like talking to westerners who live in Japan. They do the same thing here in person, not just on the internet. They avoid talking to resident foreigners but they love talking to tourists.
Yall can go figure out what that means..

Wow...and to think that when I opened this thread, I thought that I was gonna read two pages of posts about the Trisul blade. :(

Jeff

See...now that is just plain silly...

We invented thread drift in the Cantina...

Seriously though. It doesnt really matter if your from the north, south, east or west.

Call the females "Ma'am" & the males "Sir" and you shouldn't be "disrespectful" to anyone.

Not to mention "thread lurch, "thread veer," "thread swing," and "thread shift."

Say, did I ever tell you about my favorite fishin' hole?

"Thread Jack" is what I usually say, although something doesn't sound right there, especially if you've been reading the Erica Campbell and redheads threads

Yep! That's how I was raised. There were only 3 forms of response allowed to my Father: "Yes Sir", "No Sir", and "No excuse Sir." Switch "Ma'am" for "Sir", and that took care of Mom.

Actually that last one was a great "get out of jail free card." If I did something really stupid and tried to con my Dad or BS him in any way about it I would get into a world of trouble, but if I just said "No excuse Sir!", no matter how bad the screwup was, it was immediately forgiven and forgotten.

It came in handy when I smashed the glass patio door, and accidentally shot the TV, and punched my brother so that he collapsed and smashed the kitchen table to splinters, and set the lawn on fire that time, and... well, you get the idea! :D

'Scuse me, but is that anything like the dreaded "Cho creep"? Methinks we need to laugh a little more.....Come on y'all can laugh at me!

I'm proud of you. I had no brother to punch but the rest sounds familiar.
