i've always REALLY wanted one of these. there was a nice one on flea bay that i bid on. didnt get it:(
i have never bought anything from there so i really didnt know what i was doing...
man what a dissapointment. oh well... maybe i'll come across one one of these days. anyone here know of one around?
thanks...:grumpy:

I guess we're flipping the topic, but when it comes to e-bay strategies, it's simply best to post your maximum and check by the end of the week (or so) to see if you've won. I used to re-bid often until I realized that I wasn't saving much money going to ebay vs. purchasing the goods at any other store.

You will lose a ton of auctions. But once you pick one up nobody has seen for the starting bid, you will not feel bad about missing the others. I don't let myself spend more than 20 dollars including shipping, and I have put together a really nice arsenal of axes in a few years.

Bearhunter, I have been wanting one too. I'm going to keep watching for one. I have been wanting one for awhile, but SkogKniv's thread on hafting his two made me green with envy.

I ALMOST bid on a jersey pattern kelly perfect that ended last night. I wonder if it was the same one. Went for $41 and $14 shipping???

yep m3mphis, that was the one. i started to bid $50 at the last moment, but it was to late. i know that that is a little high, but i've been wanting one for awhile and nice ones are hard to find. i did bid $45 and still didnt get it. i dont know exactly how those things work. maybe the other 'max bid' was also 45. who knows, all i know is that i didnt get it and im still a little pi$$ed off today about it.
we'll just have to keep ours eyes out for another i guess.
does anyone here have one sitting around that they would get rid of?

I got my two from ebay. You just have to be patient. The right deal will present itself.

Well, bearhunter, it looks like we may be in competition on the bay!!!! We're looking for the exact same damn thing.

Skog, those are seriously incredible. How do they compare in chopping to others you own? As good as they look?

I can't really give you a opinion on them yet. Both are newly handled and as of this morning sharp. After I get some pants on them, they will get out this winter for camping wood chores. Be happy to comment then.

I bought my true temper Jersey for 10 dollars shipped. You will find a good deal if you wait it out.

well, i lost another auction today for a 'true temper kelly perfect' jersey with 4lb head in damn near perfect shape.
i guess i need more money...
oh well! this is getting frustrating...
m3mphis, did you get it?

No, but I tried pretty hard. Somebody was willing to throw down some chips that I waffled on...and I lost...damn, I was hoping it was you.

I did get a jersey in the mail today though. I found it on ebay for $9.99 shipped "buy it now" price. It's really nice, but has no maker's marks. It has some red paint remnants and has ribs in the eye. I'll try to get some pics up tonight. I really want one of the kelly perfect's though to go with my others.
