Ok - here goes:
The left panel (worn on my right side) has a map(s) and waterproof ICS 214 (logbook) in the main compartment.
The small upper pocket has an extra radio battery, some AAA spares and a signal mirror tucked behind the pocket.
My compass and whistle are on a lanyard girth-hitched to a D-ring on the front of the pocket, and tucked behind
the big pocket below it.
That big pocket is actually 4 pockets: the slot behind it, the main pocket contains lots of gloves, from poly-pro
liners to full leather, there is also a vertical slot that contains nitrile gloves and CPR mask. and on the front is a
smaller pocket that contains a dozen AA batteries.
The small pocket on the side is my pantry: Snickers (of course!) and other food bars.
The slot pocket behind is my trash.
Attached to that panel is a pouch for air ops equipment (goggles, flight gloves, hearing protection, etc.), and also a
bag with 50 of 1 tubular webbing with a variety of carabineers.
An accessory bag clipped to that bag contains everything needed for a hasty rappel. 50 of para-cord allows for
retrieval of the tubular webbing (among other things).
A flashlight and folding saw are also clipped to it, as well as a GPS on the shoulder strap.
Whew; this is getting long-winded
Ok, on my left side the main pocket contains a heavy duty space blanket, my Bullet-proof Cape (a visibility panel
that clips to the shoulder straps), head-net and a rain flap for my helmet.
The small pocket has grid ribbon, waterproof notebook, pen/pencil, band aids and moleskin.
Behind the big pocket is a wire antennae, there is also a loop for the tri-link of the integral shoulder harness.
Inside is mountain money (TP), polypro shirt, neck-gaiter, balaclava and insulated hat.
The outer pocket has DEET and some 12-hour light sticks.
There is also a gear rack (plastic tube-covered webbing loop) on which I keep a prusik and a couple carabiners.
The empty area above the pockets allows me to clip a
Strobe light , and monocular.
Oh, and a bandana sweat-rag
On the shoulder is a
Yaesu VX-7R.
A modified M-16 ammo pouch protects my crack-berry in the field, and a pouch with a military surplus poncho
and several pre-cut lengths of para-cord hangs behind my hip.
On back is a 100 oz bladder, and food bag for MREs, etc., and a first aid kit in a waterproof bag hangs out too.
Various other bits can be added, including a butt pack, lumbar pack, or even a backpack
