Trunk kit .... vehicle EDC

No, it's always gonna be in the trunk.

I don't think it's safe to have lighter fluid in a car especially with a roadside flare in the mix.
then again I don't have a car, I depend on Public transportation in around San Gabriel valley.
I think you should organize your things, think clear containers?.

good progress nevertheless

Lighter fluid got moved to the cooler.

The IV starters I don't know about but you can buy without any license or prescription male cathador tubes if you have to drain a man's bladder at any medical supply and I agree that you need a lot more water. I always have two gallons of potable and three of radiator or washing water in my truck and I could really drink all of it if need be.

My neighbor is EMT first responder... he will square me away.

Must have been some pretty fancy knives!

How much room is in the cavities of your car doors? Thick phone books can be used as improvised car armour and can withstand the majority of smaller rounds. Chances are if some ass hole or twisted militia want to hurt you, they will shoot at your car too! For theory sake, reckon you could fit some into the panels surrounding the main danger zones of the passengers of your car?

(Also, get a new car! A toyota hylux turbo with gnarly bullbars ;) built to outlast the roaches, plenty of power, fuel effecient and with a truck bed that can be slept in with a simple tent/sleeper conversion)

And.. I'd scrap that knife you keep in the front seat out for something more substantial. A modified tramontina latin machete or something a bit more maniac-esque.

I'm not gonna be pulling panels off the doors of a perfectly good Lexus.

I should have added that things like ammo should be kept in the cooler also. Ammo kept in a vehicle can also deterioate because of the constant vibration ! Eventually the powder will turn into powder ! Rotate ammo, using car ammo for only short term use.

Mine has changed a lot since I became more affluent and quit driving junkers. For years we were in rather bad financial condition and I went through a succession of "500 dollar wonders" that would each run for a couple of years before gasping their last.
I would carry a full tool box, heavy-duty jack, X-wrench, cheater bar, and a variety of spare parts and fluids..... I had a Chevy vega at one point that spewed about a quart of oil a week...

However, for the last 10-12 years we have been doing better and I've been driving pretty much trouble-free new cars and have AAA and road service and all that.
We essentially never drive "out" anywhere....It's all in the urbanized area here with plenty of quality emergency service available.

That is NOT a survivors attitude bro! ;)

When the feces hits the osculating blades, your car is now longer destined to stay shiny. It is your steed, your house and you ride. ;)

I'll address that need when it arises.

Just a thought, but why load your car up with more stuff than you can stuff in a backpack and quick march off with? A couple flat tires due to gunshots or road spikes and your cars dead in the water. Same with the radiator punctured. Modetrn cars are frail smooth road conveniences not good for SHTF scenarios. Too easy to immobilize a car.

I figure this load is exactly enough for 2 people to bug out on foot with.

CM, great video, don't worry about the MTech, I keep a super cheap assisted opener with a glass breaker and belt cutter, that way if it gets stolen it's a cheap loss, plus a Byrd serrated hawkbill as a "theft deterrent" that I can reach easily.

If you're worried about the lighter fluid, switch it out for Vaseline. It might melt in the heat but as long as it's in a sealed jar it's good. Plus tons of use for that stuff. Tho, you can't use it in a zippo..
I would add a machete(cheap tramontina or cold steel) or even a tomahawk/hatchet if you need to clear roots/vines etc.

And, IIRC from your home defense blade thread, you don't own firearms?
