I just received this amazing Fighter from Robert of TruKnives...he's a Slovakian maker selling here on BF, & he goes by "TRUSOPPS". I've seen his stuff for a while, but this is the first knife of his I bought...It took just under 2-weeks to get to me from Slovakia, which I think is lightning fast.
I didn't know exactly what to expect, but the knife was too ba-dass to pass up, not to mention he prices his blades very reasonably. It sports a 9" N690 blade, the stock is a hair under 3/16" with a distal taper, so for a large knife, it's quite light & fast in hand, which I love in these longer fighter-styled knives. I commend Robert on using a great stainless steel for this knife, while most makers would go with a simple high carbon for a knife like this...now I don't need to worry about this corroding on me...of, his edge geometry is phenomenal too - I can tell this blade will be an all-around performer...a great penetrator, slicer, & general purpose cutter, & I've got a feeling it'll chew some wood up for me too if called upon - love the geometry choices he made all around on this blade, & again, it's a pleasure to hold...so fast in hand!
What really pleasantly surprises me is the fit & finish. The handle is gap-free, the blade has some pretty complicated grinding going on, & it's so well done - one side perfectly mirrors the other...& he delivered VERY sharp, which always puts a smile on my face. I love the handle...it's relatively slim, which fits me very well....his sheath is great too, it's got a cool weathered look to go with the somewhat weathered blade finish.
I just got this knife, so I've not used it aside from initial sharpness testing & inspecting the fit finish, handle ergonomics, & blade grinds/geometries...but damn, it gets an A++ in all of those categories from me - So happy I bought this knife - check out TRUSOPPS!!
