I was looking into purchasing a Marfione Socom Elite and cam across this thread where a member was scammed out of one.

There was a claim that the receiver changed the box from the "shipped white box" as claimed by the sender as a defense. Well in case of damage claims and liability about miss handling the mail system records images of the boxes via video/camera that enables them to isolate where any damage could have happened.
So, it would naturally be able to tell the color and size and shape of the parcels.

Sorry, I am not following your question. Can you elaborate a bit more?

USPS does take pictures of all mail. You can actually sign up to get a daily email of your personal mail. IIRC the pics are in black / white so color wouldn't be there but you can tell if something is the same box or not.

So, in the original (lengthy) thread I culled the seller's claim that the buyer must have removed the original label, placed junk pieces inside a totally different box with now attached label. Seller further asserted that the pic posted conveniently did not show the label as part of the posted buyer's "evidence" showing the content as received.

Everything boiled down to a buyer ordered, and paid for a listed item but instead received other and worthless item(s).
