Try to be quiet in church....

So I take different folders to church, edc stuff. We are setting there listening to the word of the Lord and my 9 year old wants to hold my knife so I hand him my ZT 0301. He just happens to THWACK it out at a lull in the service. WOW, it sure sounded loud, so I snatched it back while my wife gives me a crusty look and I have a shat-eatin grin on my face..........aaaahhhh, good times!!

Ha! Thank you, wise one, for letting me know what NOT to do in Church. The congregation... I can deal with... My wife's anger, not so much!
 
I used to use my AFCK to sharpen the little pencils in the back of the pews back in the day when I needed to write something. On occasion, I would receive "the look".
 
I guess I had strange parents, they never hesitated to say "NO" when I asked for something. In fact, I heard "NO" quite a lot growing up.
 
Why do you guys need to bring a knife to church???

Personally, I'd be having a long talk with my kid about whipping open a blade like that. Then again, I wouldn't hand him the blade in the first place. Not in church, at the very least.
 
Hey guys,

He's sharing a story, not asking for parenting advice regarding knives and children. ;)

People at my church are pretty used to me having knives now...but I goto a cool church.

Obviously to deal with the people speaking in tongues and the charismastic preachers. Not to mention the ability to cut up rock hard communion bread. Oh gawd, don't forget about those people waving those flags. You gotta watch out for the people spear throwing for Jesus :D
 
Which brings us to what is the quietest folder? Umnumzaan maybe? Mine opens & closes softly & silently.

I'm pretty sure I saw NutnFancy do a review on a Tenacious Silencer that involved sharpening of the gimping and using DW-40 on the detent.

At my church, people are use to me whipping out knives for various cutting jobs I need to do
However, I would never be able take the embarrassment of the famous/infamous knife flick twack while a sermon is going
(Just me)

Now you've got me thinking.

My BM 556 opens pretty quietly. Maybe not quiet enough for church, but I can muffle it quite a bit by holding the grip as close to the pivot as possible.

Another quality in it's favor.
