Good job. How tough was the oak to work with ?

Lining up the holes was one of the toughest parts for me too. Wound up just clamping one side on and drilling it, then clamping the other side on and drilling strait back though.

Nice job yourself! That teak looks great, as far as working the oak it wasn't very hard. After roughing out the profile with rasps I started sanding at 120g up to 600g and finished it off with 0000 steel wool, the grain really popped out then.

I think I need more hand tools.

The oak scales look good. I've got some red oak and live oak drying out right now that I plan on using for scales in the future. Good job!
