Trying my hand at some Kydex

I'm going to do the 16 again, with a 9 also, both in the same kryptek camo pattern, tomorrow if time permits. That will take up the whole sheet. Still working out how to finish edges, mounting clips, etc. Spent the last couple weeks , making a kydex press, setting up a little shop, to get the ball rolling. First one was for a Koster bushcrafter. Took 3 tries till I ended up with the one above in the black matte handle. Next one will be the Zomstro, after I get some handles TTW just started making, strip it, patina, you know. Biggest issues so far, is the sheath being too tight after putting rivets in, and mounting plates. Now, I need to know how to buff out scratches from kydex without a biffing wheel?

Great work Milky

As stated by bladesmith3 you should mask the blade good if you intend to use the knife. Gunk from shopped woodsy stuff will get caught in the beckerfinish making sheathing a bit nasty if to tight...
You seem to have matters dialed in but please try making a tacosheath before talking about retention :D.
Did my first sheaths pancake-style and later tried to implement roughly the same rivetplacement (not on spineside though;)) on tacos... Not good.
Next for me is making an open top sheath for a bk4. Should be interesting.

Keep up the good work and post more pics.

Ive mostly used 0.080 thick kydex on tacosheaths but prefer 0.090 when makin sheaths for heavier knives such as bk29 and likes.. Or on medium sized blades like bk2 and up for pancakestyled sheaths.

Very nice work. I need to pick your brain on a few items.

For final finish i like to rub the sheathedges using a piece of fleece(from a worn out fleece hoodie).
