I am making a sheath for a Fiddleback owner and wanted a different dye for his Hiking Buddy - so I mixed up a new batch of dye and tried it out on a sheath for one of my knives that did not have their own pair of pants.

Here is my sheath for a Bark River Gunny (Rampless) that just returned from Bark River:

I think it's beautiful. It's crazy, Tal, anytime I see a knife come up for sale that has one of your sheaths, I find myself trying to justify buying it. Even if I have no real interest in the knife! I think it's an infection of some sort...

Beautiful dye job Tal, I like that very much! I think that color would look great for a sheath for my Hiking Buddy too.

For those that make sheaths - it is Feibrings Light brown in a small bottle with about a table spoon or two of Chocolate brown. Shaken - not stirred. ;)

I will be making them in small batches for knives I already own (Arete and Hiking Buddy right now) and selling them.

I have two to finish before I start a small batch. I will post them here when I get them done. No advance orders. It simply kills the fun for me...

You can also go lighter by thinning with denatured alcohol and lightly wetting the leather before staining. Fbng's Light Brown is a very versatile stain. I use it as a base stain for a lot of my multi color carved sheaths. Got too far along in the game to buy the 4 oz bottles anymore. Go through quarts faster than I like.
Nice work by the way.
