Bill,
It looks like a left chisel or hollow ground.
The profile of a Ray Mears.

Maybe a partial tang with a shorter OAL say 15"?

This one is flat ground on both sides. I do have a smaller one in the works that is about 15inches long. I like the big one a lot and I think a smaller version would carry better and still have a lot of the advantages the design offers.

Bill I agree with you on the 15 incher.
my most used and current favorite parang is about 15" overall with a 10" blade.
