i really do apreciate how willing you folks are to help me out. one of the things i have learned and really admired, hanging around the knife community is how much of a community you really are, i have never really seen this kind of support and concern for retetive strangers before and it makes my proud to say that knives are my hobby and main interest. so thank you all!

well, in putting together a list of what people are telling me are necessities, i present this:
vise
drill press
belt sander
bench grinder/buffer
forge/oven (home made)
file set
hacksaw

i am very open to further suggestions of things to keep my eyes out for, thigh i am young and wont mind doin things the hard way for a while. so thank you for and suggestions to add to my list :thumbup:

i think it would be a good idea to buy a premade blade just to familiarize your self with putting a knife together,handle making,guard construction etc..
