I dug out my 112 that my father purchase for me in the early 70s (I think). Knife and sheath are in fantastic shape considering it was one of only two knives that I used as a kid.

Here's the run down...

- 3 line stamp reads - BUCK 112 U.S.A.
- 440C, I'm assumming
- Ebony scales
- Handle corners are square with one large stainless pin in the center
and one small brass pin at each end.
- Absolutely no blade play

I don't own a digital camera, so here's the closest pic that I could find on eBay.

Any idea on the exact age based on the above features?

Thanks!

Or you can go to the top of the Buck Forums and read the sticky by Joe Houser's 110/112 spec data sheet.

Doh! :D Thanks!

So, I was 12 years old when I received this knife. I'm going to take it with me this weekend and show my parents who both turned 80 this year. I'm sure Dad will get a kick out of this information and seeing the knife again.

Any idea on the price of a 112 in 1973?

TAH,

It looks to have a SS rocker pin and you said its a three line. Is it read point up? If so its likely a 5th Ver, 3rd Variation (1972/3). Also, the first Variation 2dots has the 2 rivet pins (1974) which is your 6th Version.

Not disagreeing with Earl but I have my sheet right here and all the 4ths are Inverted 2 lines.

Hi Flat,

I think you're looking at the 110 chart. Mine is a 112.

Thanks for your interest though! :)

I have a 4th 112 as well, with the same sheath as shown in the picture.
Well made knife.

:o:o:oI was doing exactly that. I win dumbarse award again...I hate that when it happens and so often too.

My sheath is the typical black leather type.

Hey, I was the one who started this thread when I could have found my answer in Joe's data sheet.

No one desires the dumbarse award more than I. So back off! :p :D ;)

Why do you guys keep making me drag these data sheets out? Can't we just agree its in there some where. You know like losing your favorite spinner bait in the lake?? DM
