Trying to determine the 3 levels of the Chris Reeve Collecting/Using paradigm

C
But then again I do want one of those Regular Sebenzas now

I guess I am CRK. Or maybe RK.

My first CRK will be here tomorrow; it is a sm Sebenza with Box Elder inlay's. SO this is kind of C and R. It was available that day but being wood has its own unique grain/finish which would kind of put it in the R maybe.

However I am typically the type to go for less obtainable, rare and/or unique, sprints or exclusives. That would definitely get me into the "R"

Then comes K: I definitely wish I would have got in the game at minimum a few years ago when I first thought about CRK. It would have been much easier to get the knives I currently drool over at a much more realistic price. So now I kick myself being that I want an older CRK to use for EDC but have to pay a huge premium if I decide to get one.

Still solidly an "R". Found in 2014...

Nicely done, brother! As for me, 2014 has been a totally dry year. :(

R :wants for sure, unfunded, but still dangerous to myself! Bart

I guess I'm a K.

I want a mammoth small sebenza as a user. But they're mostly all gone.

C - Ordered

R - Found

K - There are lots of CRK's that still elude me and keep me searching.

Always trying to figure out a way to talk more about CRKs. So I came up with this "CRK Collector's Model"

C - You are the type who likes to Call and order a knife that is readily available today to be used and not put into a safe or pelican case.
R - You are the type who wants to buy Rare or harder to find CRKs. Annual LE's, Guild, Numbered and non-numbered P's, discontinued damascus, etc.
K - You are the type who is Kicking themselves for not getting into the game sooner who seek out the virtually unobtainable.

I actually had 5 levels to begin with, but then I wanted the acronym to be CRK.
Anyone have a different model to share?

I think I am becoming a variant of R, but I don't see it mentioned.

I want a rare and special knife that I will order direct from CRK that is something really different (special options), but I will carry and use it.

Time will tell if this actually happens.

I have to confess to being a full blown K. :o

Spend ruddy hour looking for unobtainable models...... Found 13 or 18 (depending how you count them) in 9 years. On the plus side I get a huge buzz from owning them and enjoy the hunt;) The ones below were used for Christmas lunch too which was rather nice!

PS here's the counting dilemma.... Is this 1 set or 6 pieces lol

Wow, that is a really interesting set. I am often amazed at all the things Chris has made over the years. The guy has turned out an incredible volume of stuff, and I am not sure I have ever seen anything he did that I was not impressed with in some (positive) regard!
