Can anyone tell me where to get one, I have searched to no avail. All I can find are a few year old reviews on some but the style of blade intrigues me or if I send a pic of the style that I want will Auntie have one of the Kamis make a Thai e nep for me?

jamaljahda, you could do a search on "all the forums" for, "E-nep," "E nep," and whatever other E-nep configuration you might think of if the first configuration doesn't work because at some time in the past there was a fellow who managed to obtain some E-neps whether on this forum, another one here on BFC or another forum altogether.
The helluvit is I can't remember - when - what forum - or - how long ago it's been... :o :(
But having heard from just two of us here maybe another one of the guys that's been here for awhile will remember the when, how, and wherefores of the old thread and chime in with all you need to know about the E-nep. :D

Best as always,
Yvsa

Have you tried the site for Cozun dot com? They are in Thailand and are similar to HI in that all the blade styles they carry are all locally produced. I've not dealt with them, so I have no opinion or information on the company reliability or quality.

I forgot how I came across them, but I may have been searching for martial arts related blades. Cozun does produce a style that looks very much like a Khukuri as well as kriss style blades and some other unique designs such as used by devotees of Krabai Krabong.

Jamal,

I just got back from Bangkok and stopped by a booth at the Chatukchat market:

These are stag-handled, D2 stock removal version. About 180USD with the current conversion.

I would still go for forged Enep.

Jay, I can see why you stopped:). The question is: How long did you stay;)? I bet it was a while! That is a sweet Enep in someone's (Jay's?) hand there. That is also one bullet-proof sheath! Take care.

John,

I didn't stay long enough. It looks like the HI Penknife but i wasn't convinced to splurge that much on a stock removal blade with stag handle.
Still trying to find these:

I'm not the OP, but if you know where to find a blade like either of these:

I'd be interested. I haven't seen any post that gives any hint as to where they might be found outside of Thailand.

They are in such a high demand, even within Thailand. However the prices are still reasonable. The wrappings on the wood is a joke, but you bound to get either Yuka wood or Sak Wood. and well sanded lacquered well. I am bound by TOS to say no more, possibly I can throw a price out there.

I have an e-nep I picked up from Dan Koster a few years back. It was one he had picked up, done a little finish work on, and made a kydex sheath for. This was before he got into knife-making big time. It was a one-time thing, so I don't think he is a current source.

The blade is a good one and I like the e-nep design. I've used it quite a bit. The other day I used it to cut some wood to shape. I had to split and carve some slats that I was using to fill a hole I had chiseled into a door frame. The curve on the e-nep and the thin blade gave me a lot of control as I pounded the blade through the wood.

The thai steel cleans up really nice. love to see some pics. especially of a classic like you got.

Jay,

Is that Mr Sei's shop that I gave you the address? So many knives.

Last year I bought this one. It the blade looks similar to a Tamang. The handle is teak wood which I believe the same wood to make the handle of the AK47.

I can't be sure Hung.

Let me find the address of the shop. It's 2 rows behind the exposed walk-way on the military surplus section of JJ market.

JayGoliath, I remember passing by the shop you posted pics of, last time I was in JJ Market, didn't buy any blades from them. I did buy several blades from the shop that hunglvq mentions. It's in section 23 of the market. Picked some knives as well as dha swords from there, interesting little place!

A variety of swords - Thai, Burmese, Kachin, Shan, also a few from Laos and Cambodia (according to the owner). Mostly beat-up stuff, lots with rough n' ready re-handle jobs, some interesting ones in there though. There's more swords stuck in a basket in a corner

Yup, that there's a kukri next to the e-nep knives!
