Trying to learn more about traditional knives, point me in the right direction

A few random thoughts to add confusion... :D

First, do not discard the SAK Cadet: it might drift a bit (quite a bit!) from US slipjoints, but it's an awesome knife (and tool) and gets much love for good reasons.

The Rough Rider path could work fine; I can't relate about them, but I think it's a good idea.

As for slipjoints, I would either go for a US made Buck 30x series or a Boker. Or a Case in yellow delrin.

Trust me I am not disregarding the Cadet, I fell in love with that knife after my brother showed me his green Cadet. It's not a question of if I am going to buy one. I am just happy I fell in love with the red one in particular as that seems to be a far easier color to find as I could probably justify to myself overspending to get it in a different color, as I would just tell myself the knife will probably outlive me.

I tried finding a Case Canoe in the yellow delrin but I haven't seen one sadly. Or seen a single hint that one was ever produced, besides the John Deere which costs as much as some of the others which use a nicer handle material.

Unfortunately the the knives that Buck make in the US don't really appeal to me, had they made the Canoe in the US with the 420HC there would be no question about what I want.
