Trying to post feedback in the exchange and it's telling me I have an invalid thread specified, below is the error message. I have the correct thread and everything looks to be in order. Any suggestions?

"Invalid thread specified. You can leave feedback only for the starter of the thread or if you have started the thread."

Did you post in the sales thread your trying to leave feedback for? It's a requirement since the upgrade.

Guess I'll not be giving or getting any more trade ratings, if posting in the ad is a requirement. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Didn't I see in one of the other threads on this topic that people had been able to leave a trader rating by not using the link to the ad? Or maybe that loophole has been closed.

So if the thread was closed by the seller and you didn't get in before the lock, it is IMPOSSIBLE to leave feedback?

If that is how things are going to stay, it means I won't be posting more than one item per ad - so I can close it as soon as the item is sold. I'd rather lose out on the rating than have people posting my ads.

Ratings require that you posted in the thread, otherwise people could give each other unlimited feedback without ever posting an item for sale

Okay, thanks but how do you do it? I've looked and it seems the only way to leave feedback it to go to the user profile and select trading profile, then leave feedback similar to he old site.

Post in the for sale / trade thread. Copy the URL of the thread itself. Find one of their posts in the thread, under their name & stats you will see "Add Feedback" - click on that and leave feedback using the URL of the deal thread

That's what I did Spark, and it gave me the error message above in the first post. Now the thread was already closed so I'm thinking that's possibly why it wouldn't let me?

Where's the thread?

You didn't post in it, so you can't leave feedback

I have trophies turned off for a reason. Lame crap

You didn't post in it, so you can't leave feedback

So when I PM a seller that I'm taking his knife and get awesome service, I can no longer provide positive feedback unless I post in the thread as well?
  • So now in order to leave feedback I need to post in the thread
  • quote the thread title
  • Then submit crossing my fingers I didn't miss any fields otherwise I lose all.
hmmm: UX aka User Experience to provide feedback: 2/10 - if you want to encourage feedback, it shouldn't be a PIA to leave one.

"I'll take it" is not exactly moving mountains.

Copying the URL is literally CTRL+C, pasting is CTRL+V. Substitute your phone's copypasta if you use a phone.

Then you write something indicating it was good / bad.

If that is a pain in the ass, don't leave feedback. It's a voluntary system

You are correct, there is nothing difficult about posting I'll take it...but some of us prefer to keep our dealings private. I'll pass on something I want, rather than make a post in the thread - I have my reasons. I'm not trying to sway you on this...I've already acknowledged my acceptance of not giving or receiving any more ratings...and I fully understand the issues with trying to keep a system like this honest.
The post requirement is new - it wasn't there in the previous system; so you know that people not in the practice of posting aren't going to like it...and some will feel that this new "rule"/requirement is taking something away from them. People already in the habit won't be affected; but I wouldn't be surprised to see more sellers trying to force such a post from buyers.
