The earthquake in Chile has spawned a tsunami. I live on the Oregon Coast and although I'm 3,000 miles away, SWMBO is getting prepared(she is pretty much prepared but she needs to put the finishing touches on things). I know most of you are but, are you really?
Hope all of you are safe.

Here is a great site to watch what the ocean is doing.

heard on the news Hawaii is realing suppose to get it. lots of stuff gonna effect weather this year. Have you heard of the 2 huge iceberg near Antarticia running into each other, changing flow off the oceans in the southern hemisphere. these icebergs are so big that they could supply 20% of the worlds yearly fresh water needs.

hope everyone comes out ok.

Where we live is 3 miles upriver but high tides come within 50ft of the front door. A tsunami could easily wipe us out. I don't expect it but she is ready to head uphill.
I hope you guys in Hawaii are safe.

I read sometime around 4, but I can't remember where I read it. So, don't listen to me unless I can find that again :o

Just passed a mile from me about 10 minutes ago. No reports on how high it was, but predictions were 2.6 feet above mean sea level so no big deal even if the peak-to-trough was 10x that.

the news reports are erratic. sometimes this way sometimes that way. i find one good site and 5 minutes later its all gone.

why?

should pass by me any time now, the latest predicted time was 12:30 i about 8 miles inland so i think im good.

if you are in SO Cal you only get the back lash. i am on the front end.

i am on the second floor of my building. the cock roaches are moving. does this mean anything?

my dog wants to get on my lap also. she is irritable.

Most times of the day now she will sleep on the bed. Now she is agitated.

Im in Hawaii so the anxiety here is pretty high. I bet there are several surfers that are willing to chance um.

Cheehee, I heard the surf is good right now too!

Batten down the hatches boys, it's COMING! I'll snap some pics for you guys

what can one person do? My bugout bag(s) and contingency plan is solid, at any given time it'll take me 15 seconds to be ready. I live in a caldera of the world's largest known volcano (yellowstone) so if stuff starts getting crazy I'm heading north as fast as I can. My family lives 1700 miles away, so I can't do much about that... I have friends all over the world, a very good one in Okinawa, but it's not like I can jump on a plane and beat the tsunami there. I don't trust anything I hear on the news during these massive natural disasters, there's so much information coming in from everywhere initially that none of it is reliable. I'd gladly volunteer for the search and rescue/cleanup, but I've raised my hand a hundred times for disaster responses and noone ever winds up sending me anywhere, so... I'm goin to sit tight and continue life as I always have.

I feel like a zombie takeover is in progress. Cops/Fire trucks flying around everywhere with their lights on. The civil defense sirens have been going for 10 minutes every half hour since 6am. Pretty trippy. I'm filling up water bottles in case our water gets shut down. Got some batteries for my flashlight and some ammo for my rifle. Time to hunker down and see what happens.

I hope nothing happens. If it does, I hope we are all safe.
3 Hard Boiled Eggs, pay close attention to your dog. I've been in a lot of earthquakes and my dogs always let me know before they hit.
