TTKZ, KZ2,.......Killa Zilla 3 next?

Oooohhhhhh, i love this juicy materials discussion! RussMo has some very valid points (i play around with steel too ;) ), but there are lots of other variables to consider. I see no problems with the design for chopping or lets call it 'general purpose chopping' and see no real stress points to worry about in a blade design this size. The are no stress raisers, or, light to heavy areas (corners) so the energy/velocity (which is the speed of sound/vibration through a given metal) is evenly distributed around the edges. I could go into so much more detail, but its a whole other thread...

Trust Jerry and his designing prowess....he knows a thing or two about metal as well.

Great discussion!

And by the way, i love the LB concept.

A double cut KZ with a 15" blade, 11mm thick, full height convex grind and black canvas handle slabs. Trees will fall over by themselves.:D

I clipped a wire fence and mauled the edge a bit then decided scotch brite would be a good sap cleaner on a satin finish (do'h) so I was thinking about calling Garth to see what could be done as far as coating and while I had his ear see if there were any options available for lightening it up. Budget restraints thanks to my new shooting hobby and the promise of the upcoming Infi-tana have put plans to customize my KZ II on the back burner but the idea is there.

Brother!! Good to see you here again!

Nice, it looks like this has been discussed before. Apparently there is a lot of support for another kukri design from Busse. I want one!

I'd like to know about this NO spoken of.....

Killa Zilla with res-c has my guess as far as boomerangs go. I'm down

I want a lite handle. Resoprene or LB treatment would be fine. And a big blade. .25 or better thick. 12" or better, long.
