Sold Out: Please continue to inquire if interested will be doing another run soon!
Tube Flaring Dies
The dies are used to attached handles with tubing. The flares are to be used with a 82 degree counter sink. They are made of hardened S7 steel and the tips are polished very nicely to provide a smooth flare. The dies have a shaft that is a little less than 3/8 so they will work in most ½ ton arbor presses. The dies will flare 1/8 to 3/8 stainless, brass and titanium tubing. Tubing with a .020 wall is recommended. Ready for shipment. $45 + shipping. Tube Flaring Die with Vice Kit $100 +shipping. Paypal preferred.
Here is some removable vice jaws I made to flare tubes in a vice easily. Some people do not have arbor presses but have a vice; these jaws enable most makers to do nice flares with the equipment they already have without buying more equipment to take up space. These jaws stick together and will store in a drawer. Another benefit of the removable vice jaws is being able to watch the tube flare on both sides as you do it. The jaws are held on to the vice with two magnets recessed into the back of each side. It only made sense to me to assemble them with flared stainless tubes. The dies themselves sit about a thousandth proud out the back of the jaws so the factory hardened jaws do the hard work. They work great, are very quick to set up and look cool. Will work in a 6 inch or 8 inch vice. May work on some 4" vices if they open wide enough. Can remove dies to have non marring aluminum jaws.
