Tumbled finish on 5160?

Has anyone done a Tumbled finish on 5160 with the Mill scale left on?
Would it work?

Depending on the media, and the finish you are after it may take some time, but I suppose it could be done.

Reason for asking is two fold:
First the Mill Scale is very tough and is a decent protector for the areas covered by it.
Just wondering if it would actually take a Tumbled finish???
Will be doing a somewhat Large batch of blades and looking for something that is easy to do and looks Cool!
