Tungsten Electrode for Sharpening!!

I have a 9" long .75" in diameter tungsten carbide rod (recycled part of a heavy duty drill, I'd guess -- it has a small flat on one side) - and I have also found it good for touching up or refining edges. It works remarkably well for that.

It also weighs about as much as a baseball bat. Remarkable material. I recommend that everyone buys a pet tungsten carbide rod.

tungsten carbide is a completely different animal (and material) then just tungsten. tungsten carbide is a ceramic and it's one of the hardest materials on earth.
