Tungsten knives?

To be honest I don t think that I like TC knife .My daughter loves her TC knives /i make one for her/ just because he can cut tomato right on ceramic dish and no edge damage or rust on blade .Although the blade would last quite a long time compared to steel it was only matter of time when it breaks in half and that is that, lot of work for what ? I'm playing with that because it cost me nothing , just time .No way I would buy knife with blade of pure TC .Even if I succeed / and i will / to make san mai with tungsten carbide core it will be matter of time when edge would be badly damaged and then what ? Lot of work to get new edge and proper geometry ........

I'll get some photos. Follow me on Instagram toneilblades. I have a video of the bit from forge to press. I'd say the reason for the tungsten behind the tungsten carbide is because the rest of the bit takes a beating as well

There is video where someone try to forge TC

I've seen a few vids of Sandrin's tungsten carbide knives, when people got excited about them last year, but I've never handled them, and compared to steel knives it's almost like something from a different planet, but very cool.

I'm really bad at keeping up with posts lol. I watches that video. Only the tip of my bits are tungsten carbide, the rest is tungsten
