DK, you have this Damascus knife with an 8.66” blade ($610) and a 12” blade bowie knife ($500). Which one would you recommend, and why? Know the first one is Damascus, so I figure that accounts for the higher price, at least partly. Thanks Alan

Hi Alan!
Thanks for the question, this one in Turkish Damascus steel requires more work, hence the higher price, it is a "fighting" knife for collectors!
The Bowie is an integral piece with brut forging with an 8 mm back where it would be most used, with a selective temper and having a unique beauty!
What would be your use for it?

Which knife is more corrosion resistant, and which more durable? Hope I’d never have the the occasion to use either in a self-defense capacity, but might either be suitable for that purpose? Thanks again!

The most resistant to corrosion would be the combat knife due to the manganese phosphate bath that slows down the rusting of carbon steel!
It's like we say here in Brazil, "it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
