TurnerIII offers out of the blue to sell me a D2 TAK, I ask for photos and wait and wait, then ask for photos again at which point he tells me he sold it but can give me a 1095 TAK instead.

Well I already have one so I pass his email on to a friend in the USA and my friend replies that he got the same treatment from TurnerIII, the promise of a knife but then he went and sold it to someone else.

If you are making a deal with a person then selling to someone else without giving the first person a heads up it just stinks...and in this case, a bait and switch.

So TurnerIII gets a :thumbdn: from me and another :thumbdn: from a member in the USA.

I dont see where you say youd take the knife, looks like you just wanted photos before you made your choice. I dont know what else transpired in this transaction but I just had a deal with TurnerIII and it went smooth as silk. Hes good to go in my book.

Sounds like he offered you a knife but someone else said "I'll take it" before you. Sounds fair enough. Sometimes you gotta be quick around here.

Thank you guys.

I feel my record does stand on its own, And I am not going to jump any further into this post than to say if you have delt with me you know of my honesty, my generosity, and that I am easy to work with......

In short I am an adult and I deal with what an imperfect world gives me - with as much humor and grace as I can muster at any given moment.

Regards,

T3

Sometimes a seller has more than one buyer interested in a knife at the same time. I have always went with the first (i'll take it). Maybe your next deal will go better. Sometimes you have to act fast here.

if nothing was stolen then you have no gripe... ive dealt with turner and i found him to be very generous.

It does. You're one of names I always see with good feedback in here, I was shocked to see :thumbdn: next to your name. I don't think this negative feedback is deserved.

I have also done several deals with Turner III and I fully trust him. He has proven to be a good guy.

SirJames,
I think you are being a little harsh with your words. Things like that happen. I don't know all the details of the deal but I don't think Turner III would have tried to "bait and switch" you.

TurnerIII and I also have had smooth deals and I'd trade with him again in confidence.

There is no argument to "I'll Take It"
That trumps all "inquiries"

imho until ya make a deal the item is for sale, ya gotta jump fast if ya want something sometimes, just the way it is.

I've had such good dealings with TurnerIII that I wish I had more knives to sell him. He's honest and fast. Sorry to read he was too fast for you.

One of my earliest BF deals was with Turner, I doubt he even remembers. I was buying a knife from him and he sent the knife before he even got my money order which is something I doubt a shady person would do. We've traded several times since with no problems. I know Turner does a lot of trading as I do and sometimes things can get a bit confusing. I suspect this may be what happened in this case.

Turner gets my nod here even if I have not dealt with him. A lot of times, people ask for photos an never hear from them again, not even a thank you! You have to understand that asking for a photo does not mean you are buying it. You take the chance of someone else that knows what it looks like beating you with"I want it".

If I complained about this every time it happened to me, there would be many thumbs down. If you miss out, tuff luck.

If you want it, your response to his email should have been as follows:

"I'll take it, just send me some pics to verify condition of blade" then you might have a legit gripe if you immediatelly responded like that. But if he emailed several people, your email may have been the last response.

For the record I have dealt once with Turner and it was good .

Doug came up with a blue dodo, and had it shipped to me, at short notice, in order that i could give it as a gift for valentines day. and the price was a steal. One of the most honest people you could deal with on bladeforums.

Sir James I don't know you and I've never dealt with you. But I have no doubt that you are a good and honest person yourself so don't misconstrue this to be a slam at you personally.

But I have done several deals with Turner III and I have found him to be one of the MOST TRUSTWORTHY traders here on Bladeforums. I did one extremely high end trade with him and he was honest to the penny all the way. I can't blame him for taking an offer from another buyer who was ready to do the deal immediately. He had no way of knowing that you were as serious as you say you were. Sir James with all due respect I think you need to set down and really re-think this one because Turner III didn't do anything immoral or illegal or out of order at all. He just simply took a sure deal. He had no way of knowing whether or not you would have indeed bought the knife.

I think we have to put this one in the "NO HARM DONE" category and dismiss it. And like the one brother said to you. If you want to deal here on Bladeforums and you got what appears to be a good deal>> then you got to pull the trigger fast. That's just the way it is here in this trading environment. The best of luck to you Sir. And Turner III you are still at the top of my trading list. JD Spydo
