Turning my barkriver from convex to normal v grind?

The Aurora also has a scandi cousin, the Nebula, if you like the style. They are very similar in handle and blade shape.
I think the Nebula is out of production, at least i can't find them listed for sale anywhere.
Personally I'd love to find a regular Aurora with a scandi or flat grind.
I really like the look of a bunch of BRKT designs,I actually bought a Micro-Canadian to see if i'd like BRKT and the convex grind.
Turns out i do like Barkies just not the convex so much.
I don't mind regrinding less expensive knives but i wouldn't have the heart to go grinding on the pricey BRKT's.
Glad i bought one of the less expensive ones.

There is a mini Aurora with 3.8" blade in 3V coming out very soon (as in weeks). It will have a scandi convex blade. Can't wait to see this one - sounds like the Nebula except full tang!:thumbup:

Sounds good!
Christmas will have emptied my wallet by then though, lol!

I ditched my convex grinds. I had convexed everything that I own, sodbusters, barlows, stockman, but I just couldn't get the Queen D2 Congress to convex right, so I bought a DMT Aligner and love it!!! First time that I have ever whittled hair. And it was so easy! Now, before anybody says anything, I probably could have done the same with convex, but I never invested in a good strop...oh, well. Then came the diamonds and I fell in love with the ease and the consistency. I'm glad that I can convex in a pinch, but from now on I'm an angle guy.

Like the OP I have redone the edge on a Bark River (Lil' Bird and trout) to a V grind with a sharpmaker as the edge from factory came in atrocious shape IMO and I have never been much of a convex guy, possibly as a result of the higher initial angles and the fact that I am used to V grinds. IT works much better now IMO, and I have yet to get a convex grind that slices like my v grinds do. Could be the way that I cut with my knives, but I am certainly a v edge guy.
