  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Turns out I don't like straight razors

Some children wanted a puppy, I wanted a straight razor to match my zippo.

I have found much of the pleasure derived from a good wet shave is in the prep. I found a huge difference after switching to foamless lather like "C.O. Bigelow" or "Cremo". That, over natural shave oil, after a hot shower turns scrape into spatula.
Personally I enjoy a weighty blade that, on the proper angle, falls through the hairs rather than dragging a light blade through them. But as it was said before, nothing beats personal preference. Compliments on the handle, very nicely crafted! Must say, I require the 270 degree open handle though.
If you want to try something new and loathe the investment of 30 bones for five Mach fusion clog-o-matic whisper ninja scrapers, that last two weeks at best. Try a Merkur or Vision. They are solid, shave great, much more travel efficient, don't clog, easy to use and cheap to refill. They also save on tisse as well as those funny looks one gets upon entering wal-mart before realizing his face is still speckled with cha-cha-cha, charmin.
