Looking at the Tuxedo's or some times called Swell Center or Bow ties?

Does any one make them with carbon blades? I can only seem to find the
Case ones with SS.

Also any photos would be most welcome of course! ;)

I'll have to get mine out and take some pictures when I have some light. Most of mine are carbon steel, but most of them are also pretty old. Aside from Case, I don't know of anyone making Tuxedo Pens anymore.

"Delicate" describes most of the Tuxedos I've seen. This little 3 incher is particularly slim and light. It was made by Camillus in (tough guess!<g>) 1977.
It was distributed by an old guy who ran a knife store in Alabama, maybe as a present for his good customers!!?? GWG, maybe you should shop for a vintage knife.

Thanks, looking for one with a shield on the one side, I have this one I got a while
back from another forum member, the Professor if I remember correctly, nice knife
no sheild though, I like the blades on this one, where the Case seem to have some
funny looking swell to their main blade, can't tell how thin they are ground down either
so it makes me nervous to get a narrow blade that may be too thick to use.

This one cuts quite well and works in those hard to get at places, I use it mostly when
I'm cutting out sections of foam to fit knives/sheaths into the foam, almost like skinning
an animal as I cut the outer perimeter and then pull back and slice into the layer with the
long narrow blade.
But I want to get a small handled knife with a shield that will both cut and have a shield
in there, I do a magic trick that makes it appear that there are two shields on the knife
but I don't want just a knife to do the trick, it would be nice to have one that I can also
use too...

G2 send the one you have to STR and have him install a shield for you.. Probably cheaper than a new knife..

Wow, is that doable? I'll check with him asap...
thanks,

It's a little too dicey a fix on a knife already scaled up with pearl, so
it's back to looking for one to fit the bill.
Worth the question for sure though!

The blades on the Case Tuxedo are ground reasonably thin and they cut quite well. It is noticably larger than the Camillus version, a quarter inch longer closed, an eighth inch thicker and about 3/16" wider. That doesn't sound like much until you realize the size knives we are talking about. The Case is the largest Tuxedo in my small collection. It is also the only one with a shield.

That's good to know, without being able to handle one before buying
you get a little gun shy!

As "delicate" as they seem I had little trouble chopping through a concrete block with this Case version. ;)

WOW, I mean WOW, what a knife ;)

BUT, really, that is a far better photo of that knife as compared
to what they show on the dealer sites!, the blade doesn't look
as funky, thanks for posting that!

And, I just ordered one of those very same knives, will report back
next week, hopefully, when she arrives! thanks again for posting the image,
and you should see about getting that block repaired, someone could trip on that! :)

Never too late! Thanks, nice collection you've got there of that style.

Nice tuxedos, Yablanowitz! What's the story with the one that has "pointy", bullet-shaped bolsters? I've never seen one like that before. Are those scales ebony? That's an elegant little thing.

Here are a few pictures of my Case Black MOP Tuxedo!
