TV Show - Justified (anyone watch?)

I liked the first 2 seasons, but I got bored. When Mags died it turned into a soap opera. "It's already in the glass, not in the jar." :D

I was just thinking how much I like the Boyd Crowder character. Especially after his sherriff's debate rant in the last episode. Never afraid to mix it up, capable of such nastiness, yet articulate and witty (sorry, sounds like a canned movie review). Walton Goggins plays the character perfectly. Pretty much the same for Raylan and the other characters also. Definitely one of my favorite shows.

they are only on netflix dvd's. no streaming. you will not regret it. it will have you rolling on the floor one minute and wanting to go punch someone in the face the next. great show. very well written. you will need to start on season 1 obviously. its not like House where you can just start watching at any time. its in season 3 now and everything is cumulative. boy is it good.

these are the only shows i watch and keep up with as they are some of the best shows i have ever seen.

Justified
Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
Hell on Wheels (being the less of the 4 but still pretty damn good)

We watch it, got turned onto it from the start seeing how it was set just a couple counties away..You would be supprised at how close they hit the mark on dirty politicians and the drug traffic sometimes..They really do their research..I like it so much I dont even complain about the accents or the backdrop..Good show, I like it a lot..

lol its very noticable that its filmed in Cali and not Ky.

My wife and I have watched it from the beginning and we really like it. I have wondered how real it is. We thought that real life there must not be anywhere near that exciting or the population would be dwindling fast.

I've been watching since the start, and it's by far my most favorite show(drama) on TV.

The only other drama's I keep up with is Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels, and Southland. I rarely miss Breakout King's either, but it's mainly because of the hot chick.

Of course its "puffed up" somewhat but the "Oxy Buses" and dirty politicians are very real..Im very sad to say..The buses are usually just carloads or van loads though and not school buses..Recent regulations in Florida have caused the pill heads to find other states..Im hearing Georgia lately..Its not a huge problem in all of Easter,Ky but it is a problem to say the least..
This may or may not make sense but people in Eastern,Ky are vey "clannish"..Its hard for law enforcement to get information or evidence..Many times even a law abiding person will not "rat" on a pillhead just because they are still on of "thiers" even if they cant stand them..This also stems from distrust of less than honorable elected law enforcement officals of the recent past...I could explain it better but im looking at 1000 words to do it :D

its like that all along Applachia. We see that a lot here in NC as well. there are some places in the NC mtns i visit that have been owned by the same families since the 1800's. they are very protective over their land and themselves. they do not like the law, politicans, or anyone thats not their family or friends. what you see on that show about families being in the "hollars" for generations is very very real. they enjoy their freedom more so than most i know. they think a law officer will take their freedoms away. granted not all clannish families are like this. but there are some left that have to break the law in order to survive. if any of you still do not understand please go and drive around very rural applachia. you will be doing whatever you need to do to survive as well.

i think this show really details the above and also Ky's post as well.

if you want a good dose of highly publicized Applachia watch " The Whites of West Virginia". people like that are all over the place. most families are more quiet about what they do. thats how they have lasted this long.

I got hooked this season. Great show. Looks like they're recycling the entire Deadwood cast, which is aok with me. That was a great show with great actors as well IMHO.

Prof.

+1 to that.

My bro and I watch it and love it.

season finale next week. this past episode was pretty good. the poo is getting ready to hit the fan! makes you wonder what is going to happen to Raylen's father. you can tell he is off his meds and is pissed!.. Also, Quarles! man that dude is bad ass. smoke a crap ton of oxy and wasted a state police officer. my guess is that he doesnt live through the finale.

anyone find the season 3 finale interesting? i did. some cool twists and how ole albino got ax'ed, literally, i thought was cool too. makes you wonder if he lived through that since apparently he was pretty indestructable.

I haven't seen the show other than bits and pieces but I'm a big fan of the books that the series/character is based on by Elmore Leonard

Tim Olyphant +1

because

Deadwood +1,000 :D

I love Elmore Leonard and I love Deadwood and Olyphant. (He was the bad guy in the last Die Hard movie, too.)

I can't believe I haven't seen Justified yet.

netflix has seasons 1 and 2 on dvd. season 3 just ended. if you loved deadwood, you will love this show as well.

I grew up not too far from Harlan. I started watching it this year mostly to make fun of the bad fake accents and to see just how badly they were going to play up the hillbilly stereotypes. It's still kinda amusing to listen to and it's pretty obvious it isn't filmed in either Lexington or Harlan, but I'll admit that it has slowly suckered me in. I thought the finale was great, but I was disappointed they killed off the Quarles character. What a great actor that guy is!

I don't know anyone from back home who even remotely speaks like the Boyd Crowder character...he's the most articulate Oxy kingpin on the planet.
