And with your magazine coming up...whew, it'll be even greater!!

When i do get to the states to attend some(many..)knifeshows, i'll keep looking for 'ya, you're definitely in for some beers paid from my wallet, i can pass some knives to get us a few beers together...

If you're not in for beer then there maybe will be some good food!
Of course i do understand that there is always the timefactor, especially at knifeshows, BUT, anyway that's my offer to You to show my appreciation of this site!

I, too am grateful for this medium to express my desires, seek information, and ask questions. If the ones that I know personally are representative of the members as a whole, then there are a great number of good people in the world and it makes me happy. What more could a man want than to be happy. Happy Holidays and God Bless You All, Ray Kirk www.yah-usa.net/raker

Thank you Mike Turber for creating this community place we know as BladeForums. Thanks to Spark for all his hard work on BladeForums. Thanks also to all the moderators for helping keep BladeForums such a welcoming place. Thanks to all the sponsors of BladeForums for their support.

A particular thanks to BladeForums and to all the dealers and individuals who have had knife giveaways and knife raffles. You know what I always say:

"I love knife giveaways"

When I have a question about knives, BladeForums is always one of the first places I check. When I want to know what knife knowledgeable people think about a knife I am considering purchasing, BladeForums is always the first place I come.

I look forward to seeing BladeForums evolve and grow into an even larger and more diverse international community in the new year.

To each and every BladeForums member I wish you all a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

Merry Christmas Mike

Mike; well said. Very well said. Truly a wondrous thing you have wrought. There exists on this forum a tremendous amount of trust and love. Sure, we bicker from time to time, but what family of 4,000 doesn't have a few squabbles.

As Shootist experienced for himself when a member sent him a knife before he had paid for it. The same thing happened to me, with a very valuable knife. I was dumfounded, and asked the poster from whom I was buying the knife why he was doing this. He replied, as if speaking to a child, 'I have read your posts on the forum.'

That such an incredible amount of trust between two people who have never met, except in cyberspace, astounds me. Yep, Mike, you done good. With some help from the guy in the pink tutu (cue applause for Sparky).

Which brings me to an embarrassing topic: I was going to get off your Christmas present, a decal saying, 'Honey, I've been home!' You were supposed to paste it on the underside of the toilet seat so your wife would know when you had been there. Since this would only work if you left the seat up, however, and I am sure you do this anyway, I came to realize that the decal would be redundant.

So, whadda ya want for Christmas?

One other thing: while for the past 1500 years or so, this day has been celebrated as the birth of Christ. I am christian, but it doesn't take a mental giant to realize that the shepherds didn't need to watch over their flocks by night, protecting the newborn lambs, a few days after the Winter Solstice (the lambs haven't been born yet). If we can believe what was written, and nothing was until about 50 to 75 years after Christ's death, he wasn't born in the Winter.

Perhaps it would be well to recall the original meaning of this day. The feast day of Mithras, god of warriors. The most commonly worshipped god of the Roman legions.
I suspect most of you have never heard of Mithras. The very good reason for this is that the early christians took the pagan feast days, and made them christian ones. Much as they built churches atop the ruins of pagan temples. My religous ancestors were very good at removing the competition.

PS: thanks for sending my Mad Dog ATAK2 back. It tells me it DIDN'T like FL. BTW, just out of curosity, what grade of cinder block did you use to sharpen it with, anyway?

PPS: in all seriousness, Andrew and I wish you, Lori and Jenna a great Christmas, and a happy and prosperous new year. Walt

My thanks to you, Mike, for making this place a reality.

Happy Holidays and all my best wishes to yourself and Family, and to all that contribute to bringing this home away from home alive.

***MERRY CHRISTMAS***

Mike, you have already created the best source of knife info on the Web. The online mag will only improve the breadth and depth of that knowledge.

Thanks and God Bless Mike.

Mike - Thank you; and also Spark, for a job well done; well, not quite - apparentley The Forum is still a work in progress. It has become a place which I must visit everyday; or I feel my day is not complete.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

That nearly brought tears to my eyes Mike! But seriously, thank you and everyone else for creating and maintaining this site- I don't know what I would do without it.

Merry belated Christmas Mike, Lori, Spark, Rachael. I hope the New Year is the best one yet for each of you.

Mike this place is a wonder gift you have given to the knife community. Thank You.

Mike
IMHO you have reached your goal. The place you, with the help of LOTS of great guys and gals, have made for us is nothing short of fantastic. You, Spark, the moderators and most important your family have gone "above and beyond".
Where else can a guy with an idea get imput from "name" knifemakers along with makers that have worked hard at making the best knife they can but just haven't become that "overnight success" yet? Where else can a bunch of people come together and have such an infulence on a knife company that they design a new knife based on discussions here?

I guess all of ue here could go on and on about the neat people we've "met" both on and off-line, the knowledge we've received, etc. etc. And then there's VG. But that's a whole 'nother story.

I just want to say thanks for all that is done in keeping this place running as it does.

May God bless you, yours and all who meet here.

Being out of town for Christmas,
I am late again:
