I bought this for doing some brush work on my property and think I need something longer. It's been out in the field one time and has whacked about 10 branches. Afterwards I gave it a few quick strokes on the sharpmaker white stones but the edge really didn't need it.

When I got the knife it had a few minor issues. The scales were not symmetrical and what looked like some etchant had been splashed on the blade. So I rubbed out the spots on the blade and buffed it (factory etches are still in tact), then reshaped the handles slightly to make them symmetrical. While I was at it I added some traction grooves in several places to aid in grip.

I also made an attachment for the sheath to allow it to dangle lower off the belt (making it much easier to resheath the knife) along with a spring hook for accessories. If you like the pancake style sheath you just need to remove two Chicago screws and it will be back to 100% normal, no mod's were made to the sheath.

This Golok is marked "Prototype".

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

TBAUGH7, thanks for the comments! Sorry I did not have a chance to shoot a photo of the blade before it sold. Wife dragged me out shopping ;)
