Let me first say that the men who make scales here Tommythewho, Oregon Fa’ler, and others my hat is off to you.
I don’t know what the fees are for your products, but you all deserve every bit of what you charge.

I have been wanting a D’EsKabar for some time. I previously had a BK14 with the Izula scales, but the grip just wasn’t big enough to feel right in my hand. Then I saw what Nsvens89 did in his post. So he was my inspiration.

I thought the extra scales I had from my BK16 would be just what I wanted for the BK-24, and since I often am a DIY’er...

So after this mess and just over four hours later of working by hand with sandpapers I now have this.

PS: Now the bench is cleaned op too. ;)

That looks great! 4hrs? Sounds like you earned those for sure... :D

When I was new on the site I noticed that everybody was making scales for their knives so I assumed it would be fairly easy having some basic skills in a shop. Nope! Takes a lot of time and patience which are in very short supply in my life ;).

Very nicely done! Those look fantastic!

Great job on modding those scales; sure makes the knife look bigger and more comfortable. Awesome work!

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments.

Turned out great. Bet it fills the hand nicely.

Yes it feels good in the hand and shouldn't have any hot spots.

Those came out awesome man! Looks like you hand sanded yours to a much nicer finish than I did, very nice!

Very nicely done! The tweener scales have very nice, contoured shape. Do the contours match up with your hand position on the small blade?

They do, particularly the index finger as pictured. The heel of the scales fit well with the 3 fingered grip and are even helpful for the 3 1/2 finger grip.

I've watched tons of vids and have seen countless pics of custom scales. The ones you've done rival the best that I have seen. VERY nice job!!
