Tweener Scales for my BK24

Awesome work! I'll have to give this a shot, although I doubt mine will turn out as good! Thanks for the idea!

Those scales are looking REALLY good. Great idea and nice workmanship. Well done, very well done. Thanks for sharing

Congratulations on getting your bench clean. Seriously. Nice. Work.
Details? Saw to basic shape, or all sandpaper? Liner material? How do the scales register (stay in place)?
Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the post.

I did use a finishing saw to cut off the ends of the scales. If you look closely at the work bench picture you can see the knife and scales with the forward end before I shaped it. The liner material was the lid from a tub of Cool Whip. My wife loves Cool Whip. ;)

I did not index the scales to each other; the tension from the bolts holds everything in place.

This is an old picture, but it is the way the bench looks when cleaned up.

Those look awesome. And so comfy.

4 hours??? That's pretty good. I probably spent 12 on my mycarta ones (not including making the material.)
I agree about the professional scale makers - I don't know how they make any money at the rates the charge, considering materials, overhead and the time it takes to shape 'em.
But I'm glad they keep on doing it!

That looks sweet. So how much..... Jk Does it still fit in the stick sheath or do you have to have one made now.
