Finally the Tweeners have arrived to my favorite, local (brick & mortar) knife store. So, after some thinking I have decided to get all three of them at the same time and get it over with... I wouldn't be able to resist for too long anyway... I really like them, they look nice and feel good in the hand. The sheaths are rocking. But I don't really like this new, rough coating on the blades. In my opinion, it creates too much friction and fills up with whatever material is being cut. Hopefully it will get smoother with use. Any experience on that, anybody? I'll try to get out on the weekend and take some photos of them.

More pictures added at the end of the post! Scroll down to see!

Just because they all did it to me when I finally got my Machax and didn't post pics right away...

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!

Good on many levels:
Supporting your local stores is awesome
Picking up the Trifecta is very cool
These new models are just perfect

Most crinkle type coatings do smooth over time. But, you can speed up the process with a little with some fine grit sandpaper (220 grit). ;)

I agree on all counts, but especially the bolded one!

Lucky man, I have yet to find a really good place that sells anything other than used Ka-Bar/cold steel combats, and that place ain't no good unless your there to buy guns.

Heck, I have yet to find a store in my area that sells anything other than cheapo crap knives.

Good score.

So,which is your favorite of the three?:)

I was originally leaning towards the 16 to match up with my Companion, but I ended up going for the more aggressive looking 17. I'm sure I'll break down and get the other two when I have some extra change floating around.

OK. Here we go! I took a few pictures for your viewing pleasure (and also as evidence)... :)

Those are great looking photos, congrats again. My favorite picture is the 3rd one. Looks like it's from a magazine or something.

You know, the BK-15 is the most appealing to me of the three, but I have a son who will be two years old in July and I think I might get a BK-17 and set it aside for him as a birthday present about ten years from now.

Grats on the purchase, and on supporting your local business. I am a bit frustrated with my local knife store ATM, I promised them that if they picked up the new tweeners to sell in their store they are guaranteed to get a purchase from me buying 1 or 2 BK-16s. According to them, they 'placed their order and are waiting for it'. I think they might actually be slacking because if they had placed the order near when they were released they would have HAD them in store, I'd think. Gonna keep giving them the benefit of the doubt and hold onto hope that they get them in stock before my camping trip in a couple weeks, otherwise I will be doing my hiking with my 14 or my 2 (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Switchblade, nice pics! It appears from the middle pic that the BK15 is about an inch longer than that of BK17, or is it a misperception?
