I'm gonna find out what you guys do for a living and come back in my next life as a couple of you rolled into one so I can be King of the Busse, or King stinky, or something with a lot of toys. Can u say INFI ENVY?
Must be nice to have a never ending pocket.
original SJ
Yes, it must be nice to be Tong G!![]()
Are we talking about VO2 Max or something like that![]()

That is about all I have that is relatively deep.
But I'm getting the urge to make the trip to blade to meet some of you guys.... if I can afford the bus fare from San Francisco:grumpy:.
Really, it is your VO2 that is important. The VO2 max is just VO2 divided by your weight, so if you are a linguini, then your max will be high. But your VO2 is your true measure of lung capacity
You need to come to bring my other GW so I can pay you. Isn't that a good excuse??
Your VO2 could be expressed in liters like 4.5 liters, but generally VO2 it is expressed as milliliters per kilogram of body weight and that is the division you are talking about comes into play. So 4500/70kg = a VO2 of 64.28. That method of expression makes some sense because if you had a VO2 in the six liter range but were a very fit 265 lb guy; you are not going to run or ride a bike over distance as fast as some guy that is 154 lbs with six liters of oxygen to burn; same size aerobic motor, but a lot more weight to move over hills and more body for wind drag.
Indurain was in the 90s, Armstrong around 85, Lemond also 90ish. In general guys like that are just called "7-liter athletes". Or more commonly call "freaks of nature". Those three would also have had high lactate thresholds. There is some rider out there now with a VO2 near 100 that can't seem to win a dam thing. If I recall correctly he is also very big. You might think of it in terms like he has a big motor but can't run it at high output very long (possibly low threshold).
That is my $.02 on it. Now so this relates to Busse if I ever buy a SHBM from you, you now owe me $.02 off.
(Oh how I wish I was fit agin:grumpy:, I hope to give it a good push this year.)
Would be the HOG or HH FHS or the SFNO probably. Hard to say! ...I guess that makes it a good question lol.
I already new that![]()
Oh so it was a test question?
Good thing I have that stuff fresh in my mind from helping with this book.![]()
