Twisted SAK blades?

However the "twist" here is that these photos were taken with a flatbed scanner!

Ha! I had a feeling you were going to say that. After I posted that I was wondering if you used a flatbed scanner, which I agree should be fairly free of distortion. The reason I didn't think it was a flat bed scanner is from the shadows that were cast from the knives. I'm not sure how that works with a scanner. I thought the light was projected straight up, but I guess it comes in from an angle.

In any case, looking at my SAK's the blades do look twisted, but I guess that's how they are supposed to be so they all fit together, as others have mentioned. this doesn't really bother me as I didn't buy a SAK because I wanted a perfectly straight blade. I bought it because I wanted a handy tool and the blades serve their purpose as a tool just fine, twisted or not.

I notice that on my Spartan, the twist is very slight. It is even less for my Spartan Lite and non on my OH Bundeswehr.

However, older blades have visible twisting right from the tang when looked from above in closed position. one side has a 'cut' in as in Vincent's Spartan on the photo above. However, as I said, my Spartan doesn't have that asymmetrical cut on the tang towads the primary grind, and it's of a newer model with translucent handle).

While we're at it, can anyone check their translucent handle if the slot for pin is there even if it doesn't come with one? I just found that to be the case last night .. and now got to buy the pin to prove it's really slot for pin!
