so I came across this knife looking for a western trapperlock knife and stumbled upon some knives under the brand western fashion and the line is called twisted x. They have trapperlocks and trappers mostly. I cannot find out any information about them or reviews. Does anyone know anything about these knives?

I had to look them up. Found them on the big river site.
Personally, I'd pass.
They don't give Country of Origion.
They don't state more than "stainless steel" - and even that on only a few.
The high cost indicates the clothing company is trying to cash in on that name.
They are considerably more expensive than a Rough Rider of the same pattern.

Get a Rough Rider. You'll save some green, and you'll know you have a decent knife.

Yes, if you are going to go with a chinese knife (which these twisted x knives likely are) then go with a rough rider. Rough rider's quality exceeds the price.

I look at these knives and based on colors and a few other details I think steel warrior, these are probably perfectly useable but also probably way over priced.

Well I was looking for a western but they are a little over priced because they are old and all that so could someone recommend a single blade traditional maybe like a trapperlock or a Boker 2526?

Rough Rider has several single blade traditionals in different patterns/styles

I know the rough riders are good for the price but I was wanting something made by companies similar to case or German eye or Boker.

You could go for a schrade. If you have a little patience on the auction site you can pick a 194ot up in good shape (like this one) for around $30 or less. It's a single blade liner lock trapper. Frankly it would be better without the lock, but that's how they come. There's also a lot of "special" versions of the same knife, some of which have a stainless blade.

Boker single blade trappers run about 30 bucks, same for case, that is non locking versions. I would say if you want something like a boker, get a boker. If your looking for getting a lot of bang for not a lot of bucks, the rough riders get my vote as well. Your not going to find upper end boker, case,GEC quality at rough rider prices. If you do, let me know . although RR quality is quite good imho.

Twisted X boot, JWP spur and buckle on spur strap. Sadly all three are made in China.

That being said the fit and quality of Twisted X boots is superior. And not just at the price point. They stack up favorably against custom boots, made for me, at five times the price. I wore them for many a year, literally until I wore holes in the lining leather.

A ladies pair that's seen some use I made spur straps for.

Didn't know they were selling knives.

Just to update this thread...
I bought one of their Trapperlocks.
Fit n Finish is fine, on par with the "better" Rough Ryder knives I've owned.
And I’ve got two pairs of Twisted X boots in the shop getting new heels at this very moment.

They recently started carrying twisted X boots at the local hardware and not being familiar with the name that seemed familiar I looked them over and they looked pretty cheap.
I have seen much better boots for the money.
Granted I don't wear cowboy boots, but they just kind of seemed like all the money went into making them look fancy.

Maybe they have cheaper offerings and more premium ones ?

Yeah they do have several lines. Ya can see em all on their website if interested. I agree that they sometimes seem to lose focus. Then they remember. Bout all my son rides in:

The wife's work boots here were Twisted X too:

This brand is ubiquitous here, too. I don't wear them myself but I'm sure they wear well. The brand was started in '05 and has become a global brand for a large line of footwear. The expansion of the brand will no doubt see more products than knives carrying the logo. Some will be good, some won't. They'll have to watch out for market fatigue if they don't want to dilute their image, but as long as the boots and shoes stay true to their current quality, they'll likely do well.
